The girls and I headed out for a "quick" trip to Phoenix today to visit with Grandpa G. and do a little shopping. I had everything all planned out, but a cattle truck that overturned on the freeway hours before put a kink in our plans. We crept along in the line of traffic and even came to a complete standstill twice. It took us 3 hours to travel 9 miles!!! And of course this was all during record high temperatures today. Thankfully, the girls were troopers and did very well throughout the ordeal. Those DVD players were a lifesaver. How did my parents survive without a portable DVD player???

It was all worth it though. Over 5 hours after we left we finally made it to Grandpa's place and were able to visit with him for a bit. We'll stop by to visit with him again tomorrow before heading back home. We hope you're feeling better soon, Grandpa. We love you!!!
