Happy 8th Birthday, Abby and Sarah!
Our little ladies turn eight years old today. I can't believe how they are growing up so quickly! They will be taking the keys to the car, dating, and heading off to college before we know it. I am not ready for that and am doing my best to enjoy these younger years while I can.
Abby and Sarah are in the same classroom again this year, and they are both enjoying and excelling at school. They have a strong desire to learn and are highly motivated, independent learners. They have been able to complete some independent projects recently and have taken off with this type of thing. The excitement and creativity that comes from them is amazing.
After school, the girls are involved in ballet and piano classes. They are currently preparing for their first ballet exam next week and are composing their first piano piece to play at a recital in May. They have already decided that they would like to continue with ballet next year, but a decision has not been made regarding piano. We'll see.
With this comes some perfectionism and frustration from both girls, but especially with Sarah. She can get quite upset if she doesn't get something correct on the first try. They are both so independent that they don't want Mom's help or suggestions either. (I think they are a lot like me...)
As infants, Abby and Sarah would always end up next to each other in their crib regardless of how far apart I put them down. To this day, they still snuggle together on the couch and sometimes in each other's bed if one of them is having a hard time falling asleep. I love how they stay up past their bedtime and chat in their room each night. They truly are the best of friends.
I feel blessed to not only have such great daughters but to be part of this whole twin experience. It really is something special. Happy Birthday, girls! We love you!
