Yesterday was the 100th day of school for the girls, and Katie's class did a couple of small activities to celebrate. One assignment that they had was to fill in the blanks to the statements below. Made me laugh.
I wish I had 100 phones.
I wouldn't want 100 cats.
I can make 100 cakes.
I can eat 100 carrots.
I could never eat 100 hot dogs.
Having 100 boys could really be a problem.
In 100 years I hope that I can walk.
I can lift 100 boxes.
If I had 100 dollars, I would buy horses.

Spelling Bee
I'm so proud of these two. Abby and Sarah participated in the school spelling bee for the first time today. They were both quite nervous about it, especially Sarah. She went back and forth on whether or not she even wanted to do it (Sarah is a perfectionist and puts a lot of pressure on herself), but in the end she decided to give it a try. And she is glad that she did. Abby and Sarah both made it to the fourth round, which was not too shabby for third graders.
Abby told me that she would be nervous if I was in the audience, so I wasn't allowed to attend the spelling bee, but I did receive a rundown from another mother. She said that it was so cute watching the girls together. She could sense the nervousness each of them had as her sister was given a word to spell, followed by the excitement when she spelled it correctly. Then, when Abby missed her fourth word Sarah's face immediately changed to sadness and fear because she was up next. Nerves then got to Sarah and she missed her word as well. They both enjoyed it and want to give it another try next year. Good job girls!
