Other than needing a bath when we got home, Antra was a very good camper.

Jester, on the other hand, was not a good camper at all and won't be joining us for any more camping adventures.

First Day of Preschool

Katie has been counting down the days to today, the first day of her last year of preschool. She was especially excited because it was her day to bring snack for the class (milk, graham crackers, and grapes) and show-and-tell (her "Barbie laptop"). Although Katie enjoyed school last year, she was known to be less than thrilled to see me leave when I dropped her off. I sensed a small amount of that today, but it was much better. Surprisingly, Katie was quite chatty when I picked her up, and I was fortunate enough to hear all about her day with little prodding. Just maybe she'll be less timid a year from now when she starts kindergarten. :)

Can you guess what Katie's favorite color is?

We Made the Climb

Kyle and I enjoyed participating in the 6.7 mile Climb to Conquer Cancer walk up Snowbowl Road today. Thanks to everyone who made a donation to the American Cancer Society and offered words of encouragement. Your support means a lot to me. I miss you, Dad!

Poor Dogs

A rainy afternoon prompted the kids to get creative with things to do inside. This time they decided the dogs needed to play dress-up with them. Fortunately, the dogs were very cooperative.

First Graders

Abby and Sarah started first grade today. They were definitely excited and ready to return to school, and they were less nervous about it than last year. I think they feel like old pros now. Abby told me that I didn't need to walk them to their classroom. They know what to do and where to go. I insisted on walking them in today but told them that I'll drop them off at the curb tomorrow. I did agree to let them ride the bus home today though. When they came home this afternoon I heard all about their day but had a hard time following everything because they were both talking at the same time. Needless to say, they enjoyed it and are ready to go back tomorrow. We are looking forward to a wonderful year, and from everything that I've heard about their teacher, Ms. Adams, I don't think that will be a problem.

Where did Summer Break go?

I don't know where the last two months went, but here's how the girls chose to spend their last day of Summer Break.
