After subjecting numerous caterpillars that we found to a slow death in a little plastic "bug catcher," we were finally able to take care of not 1,but 3, of them all the way to the butterfly stage. It took longer than expected, and there was always that question of whether a butterfly or moth would appear, but in the end we had 3 beautiful butterflies. It was a fun process for all of us, and the kids enjoyed releasing the butterflies today.

The last butterfly seemed a bit scared to fly away. I wonder why??
I love the excitement they had. Wish I had been able to capture it a little better though. (Look closely for the arrow pointing to the butterfly.)
